Pretty & Powerful: "Im not Afraid" Ms. Jasmine Pollard

Jasmine Pollard, 25, CEO, Jazz It Up Hair Collection

Q: How did you start within the profession you’re currently in & how long have you been it?

I started with my profession at the age of 17 because I have always loved to do hair and outside of doing hair, there were so many times I would purchase extension and get bad hair & immediately become disappointed. After I got tired of spending money on things that were not an investment for me. I decided start a business selling quality extensions at a reasonable rate as well as provide hair care & styling services.

Q: What is your inspiration that keeps you thriving?

What keeps me thriving is when someone tells me “I can’t” or “No” because it always makes me go 10x harder to prove them “I can” and there will always be a “Yes!”

Q: What has been the hardest part of what you do, that you make look Pretty easy?

With all the hair companies and competition surrounding me I would say building my company would have been the hardest part. I make it look easy because no matter what I am going to get out and promote my business and I will invest in my business to make sure it grows properly.

Q: What has been your biggest achievement thus far, that you’re most proud of?

My biggest achievement was putting my doubts and fears to the side and just taking what I had to start and grow my business.

Q. What would you say makes you Pretty & Powerful? What do most call on you for? (Your superpower)

My willingness to help others and not being afraid that my knowledge will help others grow no matter if we are in the same profession of different professions. I’m always called on to help and support others.

Q. What advice would you give to someone that may be aspiring to enter into the profession or industry you’re in?

I would say with so much and I mean soooooo much competition, “Never give up and never compare you/your brand to someone else! You are different and your brand is what you make it!”

Q: On a transparent level, name a moment when you almost gave up on your success journey, but found the momentum & power to move forward?

When I first started selling hair, I would never get the support from my family/friends whether it was buying from me, sharing a post etc. yet they would always buy and support others. I still don’t get the support from them but I’ve gotten so much support from outsiders so they really push me to not give up and know that all my hard work isn’t for nothing!

Q. What projects are you working on; that you can share & where do you see yourself in the next 3-5 years?

In the next 3-5 years, I can see myself owning my own hair store as well as my own hair salon. If God see’s it fit or me I will have both!

Q: In closing what Powerful profound message would you leave to other fellow Pretty & Powerful females climbing the ladder to success?

Always plan properly and set a date to all your goals. Can’t NOBODY stop you but you, you are your only limit! Go for everything you deserve!!
