How did you break into your industry or get started? I was born into the family businesses of Newspaper and the Modeling Industry. I just recently took over the entire seat of CEO and now I’m going at it full throttle.
What is your inspiration? My inspirations are my children, my parents and my grandmother.
What has been the hardest part of what it is you do? Filling the shoes of the Strong Black women that have come ahead of me. Also coming up with new and innovative ideas in ever changing industries.
What has been your biggest achievement thus far? Being able to watch my children grow into productive people. As well has writing by first book about a difficult part of my life, living in a Domestic Violence marriage and breaking free.
What advice would you give to someone trying to get his or her foot in the door? Make sure this is what you want to do. It is not for the faint of heart. And when times get hard, never give up.
What projects are you working on (that you can share)? The release of my first book (The Chronicles of a Survivor-How to Smile in the Face of Domestic Violence); The 2017 Black Business of the Year Awards on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at The Liberty Theater; The Summerfest Cultrual Festival & Kolumbus Kids Awards on Friday July 28, 2017; The 2017 Ophelia DeVore Unsung Hero Honors on September 24, 2017 at The Liberty Theater and 2017 Keepers of The Legacy in November and Walk to Remember 2018 and 2018 Kings and Queens of Africa – A celebration of Black History.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Seeing The Pulse go global! I see myself mentoring young women that want to get into the industry; 3 more books under my belt; starting a non-profit that helps women and children who are victims of Domestic Violence; continuing the legacy I have been entrusted with and traveling the world with my family!
